Awagami Factory is the registered trademark of Japanese Washi papers. Produced by the Fujimori family, the factory for these papers is located in Tokushima, Japan. Washi paper is a traditional Japanese handmade paper. The word Washi is formed by combining the words Wa, meaning Japanese, and Shi, meaning paper. To meet the needs of artists, Awagami Factory has focused on research and development to adapt Washi papers to the modern art sensibilities of today. Awagami Factory manufactures its Washi papers from the natural fibers of Kozo, Bamboo, Mitsumata, Gampi, and Hemp trees. The Awagami paper mill produces papers that can be used in all areas of fine arts, such as inkjet paper, kraft paper, and fine art paper.
