Caran d'Ache is a luxury manufacturer of art supplies and writing instruments, founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1915 under the name "Fabrique Genevoise de Crayons." Arnold Schweitzer, who took over the company in 1924, gave the brand its current name, inspired by the pseudonym of the Russian-French cartoonist Emmanuel Poiré, which was derived from the Russian word "karandash," meaning "pencil."

The brand's most distinctive feature is the meticulousness inherent in the Swiss manufacturing tradition. Its flagship series, Luminance 6901, is recognized as one of the colored pencil ranges with the highest lightfastness standards in the industry; this feature ensures that colors remain unfaded even after many years.

The collection includes Luminance 6901 professional colored pencils in set sizes ranging from 12 to 76, Supracolor Soft watercolor pencils, NeoPastel oil pastel sticks in sets from 10 to 96 (including Pop and Portrait themed sets), and 2mm HB leads for Portmin mechanical pencils. These products appeal to both students and professional artists working in professional colored pencil techniques, watercolor pencil studies, and oil pastel painting.

As one of the authorized retailers of Caran d'Ache in Turkey, Karin Sanat carries the brand’s complete range of colored pencils and pastel products. All products are sourced through official distribution channels with an original product guarantee and are offered through our Fatih and Nişantaşı stores as well as via karinsanat.com.
