Speedball is a long-established brand founded in the USA in 1899 as the C. Howard Hunt Pen Company, initially starting with the production of steel pen nibs. Developed in 1913 in collaboration with master calligraphers Ross F. George and William H. Gordon, the reservoir pen nib design significantly shortened working times compared to the pens of that era and earned the brand its current name, "Speedball."

The brand's most distinctive feature is its commitment to maintaining a handcrafted approach to production to this day: every Hunt pen nib is still individually separated, sharpened, and assembled by hand at their facility in Statesville, North Carolina, USA. This meticulous process guarantees the sharpness of the nib and consistency in line width, which makes a significant difference, especially in precision work like calligraphy.

The collection includes Hunt series copperplate calligraphy nibs and detailing and hatching nibs, as well as flat Brause-Speedball nibs specially developed for left-handed calligraphers and oblique pen holders. These products are designed for both beginners and experienced practitioners who want to transition between fine and thick lines in calligraphy, lettering, and illumination arts.

As one of Speedball's authorized retailers in Turkey, Karin Sanat stocks the brand's complete range of calligraphy products. All products are supplied through official distribution channels with a guarantee of authenticity and are available at our Fatih and Nişantaşı stores as well as through karinsanat.com.
