Schmincke Artist Soft Pastel Cardboard Box Pastel Set, 10 General Purpose Colors 77210

Combining drawing techniques with intense color effects, the pastel technique has been very popular among artists for centuries. Schmincke extra-soft pastels have a velvety consistency and a texture as soft as silk. Thanks to their traditional production technique and special formula, they offer a painting application that stands out with its softness and color intensity. When used in their pure form, they can be applied on special pastel paper or a canvas primed with Schmincke primers. They are suitable for all mixed media techniques. A color spectrum containing 400 different shades allows for countless artistic possibilities. With the fixatives produced by Schmincke for pastels, your pastel works can remain dazzling as they were in their original state for a very long time without wear. Since Schmincke Pastels contain extra fine and intense pigments, they cannot be manufactured by machine, as machines break pastel sticks of this quality. Therefore, they are produced using traditional methods and hand-cut. One of the secrets behind the stable and consistently high quality of the Schmincke Pastel series is its steadfast adherence to this traditional production technique.
