Moorman is a long-established cardboard manufacturer founded in 1912 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, by H.J.A. Moorman, which evolved from the book and paper trade. Over time, as artists requested specialized cardboard for framing, mat board became one of the brand's pioneering products. Relocating its production to Weesp in 1970, the company was honored in 2012 by the Dutch Royal family with the "Royal" title in recognition of its prestigious history spanning over 100 years; today, its official name is Koninklijke Moorman Karton Weesp B.V.

Moorman's mat board and cardboard products are processed with acid-free raw materials produced in its own factory, ensuring that artworks and photographs are preserved over time without yellowing or deterioration of the paper structure. Offering over a thousand options in color, size, and thickness, the brand also provides diversity through various surface finishes such as paper, suede, and linen, in addition to solid colors.

The collection features 1.4 mm thick mat boards offered in a wide palette from solid colors to marble-patterned surfaces in 20x30, 30x40, and 40x60 cm sizes (the 40x60 cm sizes are offered in packs of 4). The 2 mm thick Murakka cardboard, used for album work in traditional calligraphy and illumination arts, is also included in the range. In addition to these, marble-patterned acid-free paper and "aharlı" (specially sized/hardened) acid-free paper options offer a unique choice for artists wishing to prepare traditional book and album pages. These products cater to a wide range of uses, from the presentation of paintings, photographs, and calligraphy works in frames to the binding of Murakka albums.
