The meşk (traditional apprenticeship) system, which has been practiced for centuries and continues today under the roof of many institutions or through workshops, is an effective educational method with many advantages. This book has been prepared not as an alternative to the meşk system in which we were all raised, but to annotate meşk exercises and assist in education. In this book, relatively light tones have been preferred so that the movements of the ink pen can be seen clearly. The large letters are in their original size, written with a 10 mm pen, and have been left exactly as they came from the pen, without any corrections. The initial, medial, and final forms of the letters in the letter section are also in their original size. While the nib of the pen used for the naskh script we strive to learn is less than a millimeter, writing and explaining such fluid pen movements in such fine script has always been challenging. For this reason, while teaching naskh to students in our classes for years, we have drawn the letters in a larger size to show the details in order to facilitate understanding. To become a good calligrapher, one must undergo training and exercises, be determined, patient, consistent, and have the correct understanding; one must be able to use good and abundant materials; one must study many samples of calligraphy in terms of aesthetics and evolution, visit museums, exhibitions, mosques, and inscriptions, and practice writing extensively.
