Da Vinci Kolinsky Kolinsky Red Sable Illumination Set

It is obtained from the tail of the red sable (kolinsky), a type of weasel. Higher quality brushes are made from male hair. However, most brushes are made from a 60/40 mix of male and female hair. Kolinsky hair tends to be pale red in color with darker tips. Since red sable hair is difficult to collect, it cannot be compared to other brushes.
