Gum arabic for your akkase marbling is used in the creation of akkase marbling. After the marbling is transferred, the parts of the paper painted with gum arabic will not take the marbling. In this way, the paper's original texture or the appearance of the underlying marbling will remain. Generally, marbling is transferred onto the same paper multiple times to utilize the patterns of the background marbling. It is applied over the marbling with a brush.
