Aqua Drop Liquid Watercolor. The Aqua Drop range is a liquid, pigment-based watercolor with exceptionally high lightfastness — water-soluble, ready to use straight from the bottle, and easily diluted with water. This Special Edition "Girls Underwater" set brings together 5 shades in 30 ml dropper bottles, each containing a small mixing ball inside so the paint can be shaken back to a smooth, even consistency before use.

This liquid watercolor is ideal for a wide range of techniques, including watercolor painting, urban sketching, calligraphy, hand lettering, and airbrush ink work (from 0.15 mm nozzles upward). The full Aqua Drop range consists of 24 cadmium-free, transparent colors plus an opaque white. All shades offer the highest level of lightfastness, rated 4 or 5 stars across the board, with finest-quality pigment fineness and intensity.

Every Aqua Drop color blends seamlessly with other Schmincke watercolors, including HORADAM® Aquarell and AKADEMIE® Watercolor. The opaque white in the range can be used as a pure white on its own, or mixed with a brush or pen nib into other colors to lighten and add opacity to them. (Do not use the opaque white, or colors mixed with it, in the Aqua Drop Liner pen.)

A note on paper and surfaces: AQUA DROP is a true watercolor, so it works well on all watercolor papers and pre-primed canvases. For even application with the AQUA DROP LINER pen, smooth, hot-pressed paper is recommended. The purer the color application and the more absorbent the surface, the more firmly the pigments bond to it. Individual test swatches are recommended before starting your final piece.
