Schmincke Artist Soft Pastel 018 M Burnt Sienna

Combining drawing techniques and intense color effects, the pastel technique has been very popular among artists for centuries. Schmincke extra-soft pastels have a velvety consistency and a texture as soft as silk. Thanks to their traditional production technique and special formula, they offer a painting application that stands out with its softness and color intensity. When used in their pure form, they can be applied on special pastel paper or a canvas treated with Schmincke primers. They are suitable for all mixed media techniques. The color spectrum, which includes 400 different shades, allows for countless artistic possibilities. With the fixatives produced by Schmincke for pastels, your pastel works will remain dazzling, just as they were when first created, without wearing out for a very long time. Because Schmincke Pastels contain extra-fine and intense pigments, they cannot be machine-manufactured, as machines break pastel sticks of this quality. Therefore, they are produced using traditional methods and hand-cut. One of the secrets behind the consistent and unchanging high quality of the Schmincke Pastel series is its steadfast adherence to this traditional production technique.
