New Liquid charcoal colors allow for a transition from drawing to painting. Liquid charcoal in a 35 ml tube can be used for clean, dust-free painting, charcoal drawing, and priming. Three pigments of natural origin (PBk 8, black kernel) used for this purpose are produced by burning fruit pits collected in the EU region, resulting in the following unique charcoal shades: Natural peach pit black - 18757, warm, brownish cherry pit black - 18756, and cool, bluish grape seed black - 18755. Due to the large amount of color that can be obtained quickly, liquid charcoal can be used over large areas. Liquid charcoal contains high-quality gum arabic, just like traditional artist-grade watercolors and gouaches, has a gouache-like consistency, and can be diluted with water, allowing for different tones and layer thicknesses. It can also be applied by hand for different thicknesses and densities in priming applications and is washable with water. When used as a thin primer (e.g., in oil painting), it does not smudge like other charcoals because its binders fix the carbon pigments to the surface more effectively. Naturally, liquid charcoal can also be used in combination with other charcoals. The distribution and removal of liquid charcoal depend on the structure of the surface used (textured or non-textured). The smoother and tighter the surface, the easier it is to modify. Preliminary tests are recommended. All three colors are available in 35 ml tubes. Please note: Since the pigments are natural products, there may be minimal color variations in different applications.
