Schmincke Oil Primer Underpainting White 120 ml 50517

Usage: Shake thoroughly before use and stir if necessary. Oil primer / underpainting white is the ideal white for underlayers in oil paintings. It minimizes the cracking of colored glazes in the upper layers. Unlike other Schmincke white oil colors, the product is produced with linseed oil and shows a tendency to yellow. Therefore, it is not suitable for pure use or as a white mixture. Please use only on grounds prepared for oil painting, such as Schmincke primer 1, highly absorbent 50512 or Schmincke primer 2, slightly absorbent 50514. Oil primer / underpainting white is ready to use and should be applied in thin layers. Like other oil colors, this product dries in a complex physical-chemical process with oxygen and is used with turpentine or turpentine substitutes. The product can be diluted with turpentine 50024/50102, turpentine substitute 50019, thinner N 50026, terpine 50023, and citrus terpine 50013. Please clean tools such as brushes or palettes as soon as possible; use turpentine 50024/50102, turpentine substitute 50019, or brush cleaner 50051/50052. Oil primer / underpainting white can also be tinted with other oil colors. Please also remember the "fat over lean" rule. If you are working with other Schmincke mediums for oil painting, please apply dosage for these products individually! Wait at least 8 - 12 months for overpainting oil primer / underpainting white with varnish paints. Close immediately after use. Store in a cool and dry place.
