Usage: Ideal for the temporary protection of unfinished oil paintings; it softens dull areas frequently seen in oil paintings (less film on matte sections); it also imparts the nature of oil colors to tempera grounds. Shake before use. The product is ready to use, but can be thinned if necessary with, for example, 50019. It can only be applied with a suitable varnish brush once the painting surface is dry, i.e., after at least 4 weeks. Please clean tools as soon as possible with, for example, 50019 or brush cleaner 50051/50052. The dried varnish layer remains soluble in 50019 for a long period. It can be painted over with oil colors or a final varnish based on mineral spirits can be added. Products based on mineral spirits cannot be mixed with alcohol-based products such as alcohol retouching varnish 50020. Close immediately after use. Store in a cool, dry place.
