Sennelier oil pastel is a product that utilizes the same components used in all Sennelier colors: top-quality pigments, an extremely pure synthetic binder, and mineral wax. The pigments are ground with a binder that is inert, non-oxidizing, and does not affect film stability or the surface, nor does it have siccative properties. This base is then mixed with wax (neutral pH). The balance of this mixture gives Sennelier oil pastels a creamy texture that allows for great freedom in pictorial expression.

Sennelier oil pastels have an exceptionally high pigment content, which gives them high coloring and covering potential, excellent brightness, and a high degree of lightfastness (with the exception of metallic and fluorescent shades).
