Transcending the boundaries that separate the arts is one of the defining characteristics of our age. Painting, music, ballet, theater, cinema... Whether or not these arts have a direct connection with one another, they are interweaving and integrating by melting each other's formative elements into their own formal languages. In this book, I have attempted to demonstrate the ties between the art of painting and music in the first half of the twentieth century. We have seen that the search for temporal space in painting, and in this context, rhythm and movement, as well as color gaining a value in its own right, revealed the fundamental similarities between painting and music and accelerated the interaction between the two arts. The convergence of the two arts leads to the discovery of new structural and expressive elements for both. More precisely, artists are beginning to use existing, known materials as formative elements with a new understanding. The social change experienced after the Second World War altered the understanding of art and the artist's view of the world. Rapidly advancing technology has played a major role in this new development. In particular, the concepts of time and space have gained brand new dimensions. In this context, painting and music have drawn even closer to each other. This book approaches the pioneers of modern art from an unusual angle. By examining and analyzing the paintings of artists known to those who are open to twentieth-century art within the context of music, it brings a new dimension of perception to these paintings.
