Series 1 612 Burnt Umber Schmincke Akademie Oil Color Artist Series Oil Color The Schmincke Akademie series consists of 48 vibrant and brilliant colors. All colors in this series have maximum lightfastness (4 and 5 stars). It has an ideal consistency due to its soft, buttery texture. It features a drying process that is both fast and uniform across the paint layer. By mixing the series' primary yellow, primary magenta, and primary cyan colors, you can obtain many secondary colors. Because the Akademie oil color series contains many colors made from single and pure pigments, it guarantees a painting experience with brilliant and eye-catching vibrancy. It can be used directly from the tube or mixed with other paints. Developed through educational experiments in Schmincke laboratories, this balanced and feature-rich series includes both opaque and transparent colors. Additionally, as a special feature, it includes 4 different white colors. With these 4 white colors, you can achieve various goals such as lightening colors through a graduated mixing method or creating a white underlayer to work upon. The natural sunflower oil used in the paint's composition ensures an optimal drying process and a smooth, even consistency. All 48 colors are available in 60 ml tubes, and 38 colors are available in 200 ml tubes. Titanium white has also been released in 500 ml bottles and 5-liter buckets. All Akademie oil colors can be mixed with other Schmincke oil colors (Mussini, Norma Professional, and College series) and the entire extensive range of Schmincke oil painting mediums. This allows for the creation of an infinite number of alternative colors, tones, and mixtures.
